Embark with me on a travel to a hill station about 70 kms from Bengaluru near Tumakuru town. The hill station is called Devrayanadurga and has two magnificent temples dedicated to Lord Narasimha – one at the base called Bhoganarasimha

and Yoganarasimha at an altitude of around 4000 feet above sea level.

Also at the base of the hill is Namada chillume which is a natural spring.

Legend has it that Lord Rama on his way to Sri Lanka stopped at this place for rest and shot an arrow into the ground which yielded water to apply sacred paste on his forehead. To add a sense of awe to this is the magnificent foot print seen near to the spring!

Many rare species of medicinal plants and trees are found in the forest surrounding the hills and a beautiful deer park is an absolute delight

Seems like a good place for one day outing from Bangalore. Great pics.

I am not sure if I have visited this place Sunita, but something about this makes it feel very familiar. I like that they have the deer park and the hanuman temple looks really neat. So many treasures in the less explored places 🙂
